Education Representative Job Description

EDUCATION STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE

MANDATE: To represent the education students on the council.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as the representative on council for education students.
• Sit as a voting member of the council.
• Sit as a voting member on the Chapel Planning Committee.
• Work in conjunction with Council and the University
concerning events and concerns for students in the education
program.
• Propose a budget regarding activities for students in the
education program to the Social Manager.

APPOINTMENT: The individual will be elected by members of Student Body who
are in the B.Ed. program at ABU. The election will be in late
September. Grade Point Average requirement of 1.67.

3rd Year Representative Job Description

3RD YEAR REPRESENTATIVE

MANDATE: To represent the third year class on the council.

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Act as the third year class representative.
• Sit as a voting member of the council.

Canteen Operator Job Description

CANTEEN OPERATOR

MANDATE: The Canteen Operator will operate a canteen at appropriate
ABU Sporting events.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Meet with ABUSA’s Sports Manager and ABU’s
Athletics Director regularly (at least monthly) to
determine when the canteen should be operated.
• Oversee the purchasing of snacks and beverages, as well
as management of inventory.
• Manage canteen staff (if not self-operated).
• Work with VP Finance to ensure financial procedures
are met.

Sports Activity Planner Job Description

ACTIVITY PLANNER

MANDATE: The Activity Planner will assist the Sports Manager with
planning recreational activities for the Student Body.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan a minimum of one recreational activity per
semester.
• Meet with ABUSA Sports Manager at least monthly.
• Assist the Sports Manager in their role.
• As much as possible, offer access to transportation for
students to and from all ABUSA sporting events.
• Work in conjunction with Event Planner to stay
informed on which transportation sources are the most
effective.

Coffeehouse Planner Job Description

COFFEEHOUSE PLANNER

MANDATE: Plan coffeehouses and karaoke nights.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Must plan a minimum of one coffeehouse or karaoke
night per semester. (Minimum one coffeehouse per
year.)
• Meet with ABUSA Social Manager at least monthly.

Yearbook Editor Job Description

YEARBOOK EDITOR

MANDATE: To coordinate the production of a yearbook, or other keepsake.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Upon hiring, recommend to the Communication Manager the
proposed medium of the next year’s Yearbook. ie. yearbook,
DVD, etc.
• In cooperation with the Communications Manager, select
and/or hire staff members such as layout editors,
photographers, advertisement sales representative, and any
other staff required to perform needed tasks.
• Ensure that deadlines are met and that the Yearbook is
finished and returned to the university by early April.
• Ensure that all facets of the university are included in the
Yearbook. This includes significant events, all teams, and
both on-campus and off-campus students
• Meet with the Communications Manager at least monthly.
